Scolaro Parasols: Made in Italy Since 1974
Scolaro has made parasols in Italy since 1974. The range runs from central-pole and telescopic parasols to side-post and flat-design cantilevers and large structures for restaurants and hotels. Its flagship is the Galaxia, a retractable parasol whose opening and closing is assisted by a gas spring.
Scolaro Collections
Scolaro builds its frames in aluminium, with finishes such as Starwhite, Carbon, Timber and Titanium, and its retractable models open and close above tables and chairs without moving the furniture.
Besides the Galaxia, the range includes the Pagodaire, Revo, Verona, Capri, Lido and Vela, for residential terraces and for restaurants and hotels, with a choice of canopy fabrics and frame finishes.
Scolaro and the Wind
The Costa del Sol has two prevailing winds, the Levante from the east and the Poniente from the west, and both can rise with little warning. Scolaro is clear about it: close the parasol whenever there is wind, because sudden gusts can damage or overturn it, and take it off its base when the terrace is left unattended. On the coast, a heavier base may be needed.
